Mark Francois MP: 'We now want David's law so that it will be illegal in future for people to go online under a cloak of anonymity and call people everything under the sun.'

a quote from your original post.
That isn't censorship. Its simply saying that if you have something to say, have the courage to say it under your own name.
The reality may well be as you suggest, and if so, I'll happily admit i was wrong - but i find it very hard to find any issue at all with the premise of that statement.

Untrue. They've banned, shadowbanned and otherwise censored a lot of prominent anti establishment voices (from both the right and left) for spurious reasons, and this has increased over recent months.... while ignoring the stuff you've mentioned.

This sort of thing isn't about keeping you safe, its about censorship, and using the murder of David Amess to push for it is disgusting

Not gonna say i knew much about David Amess before this but from what's been posted here and elsewhere he was generally against government overreach and a thoroughly decent bloke who actually gave a shit about his constituents.

He'd probably have been horrified by this law. Calling it "David's Law" is an insult.

If anything, they've encourage it, stewie.

I urge you to all read this, which was written by Fake Carlton Cole. An anonymous blog of his. It can be done.

not sure why there's any issue with rules regarding internet anonymity. The social media companies have been given ample warning, across many years, across a range of issues, from racist abuse to the arranging of terror attacks through their platforms, and they've done precisely fuck all about it.

To suggest otherwise is completely dishonest.

When they say Internet anonymity they don't just mean social media. The goal is more and more censorship.

The fact they're using this murder to push for this sort of law, when the murder had absolutely fucking nothing to do with internet anonymity (the killer was known to police ffs) should show how dishonest they're being.

Re: Sir David Amess - RIP (Southend City)
I hope they don't bring in that law. It's not the government's business what I say online. If I break any current laws in what I say, of which there are already far too many, then they can kick my doors down using those those ones.

Also, calling it 'David's Law' makes me dry heave. It's an insult to piggy back this off his murder. His killer was radicalised by the writings and actions of a 7th century warlord who killed, raped and pillaged his way to immense wealth and status, and who encouraged his followers to do the same.

What do you know about me, ray, to spot who I am in real life?

I could, if I wanted to, turn up at your next pub gig and laugh in your face how shit you are.

Amazing how people get themselves in to the kind of state where they slag off their own social media network. It’s as if they are totally oblivious to the social choices they make on a daily basis.

Really, it’s a miracle you get through each successive 24 hours, Twundle.

Hang about why is everyone so upset about this "Davids Law?"

This doesn't just stretch to MPs.

You are still allowed to criticise. Just nothing ott, like "racism" or "threatening language", etc. Or is everyone ok with that now?

What stopping anonymous whistle-blowers from creating their own BLOG, and publishing it that way, mashed?

Twitter and Cuntbook are absolute shitholes infested by mongs. I don't know why people think they're great for society the way they are. Something needs to change about them.

Its to do with keeping tabs on what people are saying and stopping anonymous whistle-blowers. Its about shutting down criticism of the regime.

Absolutely irrelevant to this murder. And using murder to push for this is so sneaky and disingenuous its fucking unreal. But totally predictable and shows what they're really about.

Re: Sir David Amess - RIP (Southend City)
I don't know why any sane person wouldn't want it to be illegal in future for people to go online under a cloak of anonymity.

SOCIAL MEDIA is a cesspit awash with fucking idiots. I'm pretty sure the law would allow them to post anonymously under a username, but presumably they'd be accountable if they overstepped the mark.

I mean, you could post what you wanted up here if you wanted to, get banned, and then come back the next day with a different username. I guess under this new law, you'd be banned from the site and that's it, you're gone unable to return using a different username.
